Today, it's off to Staples, Office Depot, and then Wal-Mart for school supplies.
Staples usually runs ads for freebies which come in handy when you're shopping for 5 kids, so I hit them when they open their doors. I need notebooks, paper, red/blue pens, erasers, glue, binders, markers, crayons, pencils, protractors, and 3 backpacks.
Last year I made the mistake of shopping for school supplies without the kids. Won't do that again! All I heard for the next week was, "Mom, no one carries this kind of binder, I wanted the green notebook, not the black one, and what were you thinking when you bought folders in yellow, green, red, and blue?" Actually, it didn't dawn on me that kids in grade school paid much attention to the color of folders. When I was in school, you were lucky to get one folder, let alone every color in the rainbow. Guess that's old-school thinking!
Anyway, as much as I dread the thought of it, I'll take all five with me, set the dsc home security near Omaha prior to leaving for the all day shopping spree, shop till we drop, do the McDonald's thing for lunch, and spend the day hanging out with the kiddo's.
