Stages of Life - yours and mine

Old age slowly creeps up on you....from childhood to middle age and then to old age. You look in the mirror and wonder where the time went. I'm on the 3rd step from the bottom on the "over the hill" side! BUT, I'm still here!

First ~ Eventually you will reach a point when you stop lying about your age and start bragging about it. (I'm there!)

Second ~ The older we get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for. (movies for one)

Third ~ Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know "why" I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved. (I agree 100% --except that I do tint my hair--)

Fourth ~ When you are dissatisfied and would like to go back to youth, think of Algebra. (I flunked algebra..we'll not talk about that)

Fifth ~ You know you are getting old when everything either dries up or leaks. (mainly leaks)

Sixth ~ I don't know how I got over the hill without getting to the top. (a long climb but I made it)

Seventh ~ One of the many things no one tells you about aging is that it is such a nice change from being young. (don't agree with this....I liked being young)

Eighth ~ One must wait until evening to see how splendid the day has been. (many memories to reflect on)

Ninth ~ Being young is beautiful, but being old is comfortable. (like an old shoe?)

Tenth ~ Long ago when men cursed and beat the ground with sticks, it was called witchcraft. Today it's called golf (yep)

And finally ~ If you don't learn to laugh at trouble, you won't have anything to laugh at when you are old. (laugh and the world laughs with you --cry and your tear ducts dry up)

JeanBee, loved your comment on CoffeeShop. I thought I had linked your blog on mine, found out I didn't, just made that post ref about Granny's apron, but have now, it's linked on the side bar. Love your posts, at 57 I understand all you say.

Oh my. I know what you mean. Sorry it took me so long to reply to your blog. But I did not realized you had replied to my very first post until today. Please accept my apology.

Now about your post here. I truly do love it! Amazing how when you are young all you want to do is "Grow Up!" But when you do, then all you want to do then is "Go Back" and be "A Kid" again! LOL
I will be back to read more of your future posts. So please keep blogging away! And may I add you to my "Checkin This & That Out" list? Thanks so much.

I agree about your comment about golf. I also posted a golf related commentary,"Top Ten Reasons Guys Play Golf".

I can really relate to the stages of life. I enjoyed stopping by your blog. Reading it brought back memories of days gone by with my Grandma's apron.
