2nd Place - Lone Duck Campground - Cascade, Colorado

I'm not a fan of private campgrounds, but Jeff and the kids really liked it here! The kids both ranked it #1.

Mountainous, yet within minutes of big city life in Colorado Springs. Michael loved the heated pool. Cierra loved the showers. Jeff loved the 24-hour arcade full of his favorite old games. Everyone loved the free wi-fi access and electricity. There is a fishing lake and playground. The campground is small and not too crowded (even when full). The owners are super friendly, and they cook a pancake breakfast (for a small fee).

Private campgrounds are always a little more expensive. They have tightly packed, small spaces and are much less scenic than the public parks. The stream here is tiny and overgrown. The mountain views include the backyards of old houses across the river. The Campground is a little tricky to reach, and GPS is wrong. Directions are on the website (or call).
